What is Mineraly, in one sentence?
What is Mineraly, in one sentence?
A daily chewable tablet that coats your teeth with hydroxyapatite — the mineral enamel is made of — and leaves it there for hours instead of rinsing it away after two minutes.
How is this different from a remineralising toothpaste?
How is this different from a remineralising toothpaste?
Mostly the format, and the format is the point. A paste with hydroxyapatite in it still gets brushed on and rinsed off, so the mineral has about two minutes of contact. A chew dissolves slowly and isn't rinsed, so contact is measured in hours. Same mineral, very different amount of time on the tooth.
Do I stop using toothpaste?
Do I stop using toothpaste?
No. Keep brushing exactly as you do now, twice a day. Toothpaste cleans, which still needs doing. Take Mineraly after you brush so the mineral lands on a clean surface.
Is there fluoride in it?
Is there fluoride in it?
No. Mineraly uses hydroxyapatite instead. That isn't a position on fluoride — it works, and the evidence for it is strong. They simply do different things, and hydroxyapatite is the material enamel is actually built from. If your dentist has you on a prescription fluoride regimen, stay on it and speak to them before changing anything.
What does it taste like?
What does it taste like?
Faintly sweet, lightly minty, a little chalky in the way a mineral tablet is. It dissolves in around thirty seconds. It isn't a mint and it isn't a sweet — it's meant to be unremarkable enough that you take it daily without thinking about it.
When should I take it?
When should I take it?
After brushing, and ideally at night. Saliva flow drops while you sleep, so there's less to wash the mineral away, which means longer contact. If night doesn't fit your routine, after morning brushing is fine — consistency matters more than timing.
Can I eat or drink afterwards?
Can I eat or drink afterwards?
Try to leave it thirty minutes. Eating or drinking straight after washes off some of what you've just applied. Water is fine.
Safety and suitability
Is it safe with crowns, veneers, bridges or implants?
Is it safe with crowns, veneers, bridges or implants?
Hydroxyapatite isn't abrasive and won't damage dental work. That said, if you have ongoing treatment or a specific condition, check with your own dentist before adding anything new. We'd rather you asked them than took our word for it.
Can I take it if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Can I take it if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Ask your doctor or midwife first. That's the honest answer for any supplement during pregnancy, and we're not going to pretend to be able to give you a general one.
Is it suitable for children?
Is it suitable for children?
Mineraly is formulated for adults and we don't recommend it for young children, partly because a chewable tablet is a choking risk for the very young. Talk to a paediatric dentist about what's appropriate for a child.
I'm on a GLP-1 medication. Does that change anything?
I'm on a GLP-1 medication. Does that change anything?
A lot of people on GLP-1s report dry mouth, and less saliva means less natural protection for enamel. That's a reasonable time to be paying attention to your teeth. It also means you should mention any new supplement to whoever is managing your prescription — not because we expect an interaction, but because they should have the full picture.
Are there allergens?
Are there allergens?
The full ingredient and allergen panel is on the product page and printed on every jar. If you have a specific allergy, read it before ordering rather than relying on a summary here.
Is this a substitute for seeing a dentist?
Is this a substitute for seeing a dentist?
No, and we'd be uncomfortable if anyone treated it as one. It's a daily supplement for enamel. It doesn't diagnose anything, it doesn't treat gum disease or decay, and it doesn't replace a check-up. If you have pain, bleeding gums, or a tooth that's changed suddenly, book an appointment.
